My canon MX860 is printing blank pages with brand new ink cartridges.?
I just replaced all 5 of my ink cartridges. I then did a nozzle check print, and the black was pretty choppy but all other colors were good. I then did a head cleaning, and now NO colors are printing – only blank paper is coming out. I’ve since done multiple cleanings (all auto) and a “deep cleaning” (also auto), and still, nothing but blank paper is coming out. I’ve also unplugged it for a minute and plugged it back in.
Please help.
The part where you put in your ink cartridges is called the “print head”
Its black and if i remember correctly the lever that lifts out the head is blue.
Take out the cartridges then lift out the head (The head can be replaced) but its pretty expensive.
You can take a bowl of hot water (Boil water then put it into a bowl and leave for about 5 mins) then soak the print head nozzles in the water for about 5mins , hold it in the water with your hands and dont burn your self and try not to get the copper contacts wet.
Then put it back with the cartridges and do another 2 or 3 Deep cleans then test again.
If it still does not print it means the ink inside the nozzles has dried up and clogged the nozzles.
If you decide to get a new print head never leave your printer off as the printer maintains its self.
Also print at least 1 page a month so the ink can flow and not get stuck inside the printer.
