HELP! Printer (Canon ip4300) won’t read cyan cartridge, please read, this is weird!?
I have a Canon Pixma ip4300. It is a few years old. I have been buying replacement ink from Cartridge World with no problems, as they are remicrochipping the cartridges. HOWEVER, I had a problem a few weeks back where I brought the ink home, put it in, and it didn’t read. I took it back, got a new one, and it worked fine…didn’t think anything of it. So, I’ve been printing stuff, and it said that the ink may be out but I can still print if I override it, but damage could be done to the printer. So then I did print with no problems a few more pages without the color running out before finally removing it to be replaced. I replaced it and it couldn’t read it. I took it back, got a new one, and it STILL won’t read it. Do you think I finally pissed of my printer to the point of getting “cut off” by it, or do you think that this Cartridge World just forgot to remicrochip twice in a row?
It could be possible that maybe a few cartridges got through that hadn’t been reset. I’ve seen it happen before. Just give them a call and I’m sure they’d be happy to give you another replacement. Mention that you’ve had to come in to get a replacement for it already, they might compensate you with a freebe. I would hold on to that printer, the cartridges are fantastic quality and not expensive compared to other brands and the printers that canon have just brought out (cli521s) can’t be reset just yet, and are half the size of the cli8s.
