PRINTERS AND INK.What is the most outrageous price you have heard for replacement cartridges,by what manufactu

rer?.We all know we are ripped off with ink,so what is the best on the market now for cost effectiveness,producing decent results.Dont seem to be able to buy Epson stylus c44ux or c62 anymore.
Sorry i meant the actual c44ux or c62 epson printer,not the ink.

Definitely the most expensive is Lexmark; the ink costs more than the printer.

Epson are currently suing the world in regard replica cartridges. Looking for c44/c62 and the local markets are about your best chance. R200 series are getting harder to come by in the computer shops. I use the stylus r240, which takes four r200, I can get the a set of six for £5, but mine only takes four and as singles they are £2 each, (figure that out?).

Epson stopped making the C62 about two years ago, I wanted to replace my C42 like for like as I had 6 years good service out of it. Could only get a reconditioned one so I decided to buy new. R200 was the base line then. Trouble is to counter the replica inks they keep changing the cartridges. If they actually win the battle all their current customers will be using a different brand by then. For me to buy a set of four genuine Epson inks it costs £70; I might aswell buy a new printer.
