Refilling ink?
I have just started refilling my ink cartridges as opposed to buying new ones. When refilling ink, does it make a difference whether the ink is by the brand of the cartridge or not? I’m buying the refills off of eBay, and a lot of sellers sell bulk ink of the colors needed. I have canon ink cartridges and HP (2 printers). Can I use the same refills for both brands of cartridges?
I dont know about Canon and HP but I do know that all ink is not the same and HP and Canon ink will not work properly in an Epson. When I used HP photo paper in an Epson printer, the results were terrible. The same printer worked fine with Epson paper. That’s when I learned that Epson ink is formulated differently than HP and Epson photo paper is coated differently to match the ink formulation. If HP ink is thinner or thicker than Canon, the HP printer might use more or less ink, which means if the ink you put in doesnt match, your results will be poor. In general, refilling is a risky prospect and can lead to problems.
